Beginning at the end of 2001, Shapiro returned to art school to focus solely on photography.
Introduced to photography through various ways at about 4 years old, learning about the SLR and smelling the chemicals in the darkroom are today antiquated memories. Picking up her first camera and assignment in high school, Shapiro only started to understand the significance of singling out images.
